The awe of an artist in the face of the richness of Moroccan heritage.

"The Moroccan heritage is splendid and unique," exclaimed Giloya Lua, an Angolan interpreter and producer based in Italy, marveling at a traditional "Asmlal" outfit from the Souss region, with its Loubane Tifoulouss accessories and silk-embroidered leather slippers. The artist highlighted the diverse beauty of Morocco and the country's generous and welcoming hospitality, praising the high quality of the Moroccan booth that reflects the splendor of internationally renowned Moroccan products.

An immersion into the diversity of Moroccan outfits

The Universal Exhibition also allowed visitors to discover the outfits and accessories from the Middle Atlas region, as well as the precious silver treasures from Taroudant. The Darâa, a costume worn by men from the Southern provinces, was also highlighted. This loose tunic, in white or blue, has two openings designed to withstand the scorching sun rays. A fashion show and an artistic demonstration of these cultural symbols were scheduled for Saturday.

The caftan: an icon of international fashion.

Traditional Moroccan outfits, particularly the caftan, have adorned several top international personalities, including the late Marta Marzotto, one of the "queens" of Italian high society. "For 25 years, it was her uniform, and she fell in love with it in Marrakech. The caftan identified her to the point that the most famous designers paid her tribute," wrote the "Corriere Della Sera" in a posthumous tribute. The Italian stylist and artist, who owned a house in the ochre city, fell in love with Marrakech, the ancient riads, and the local families who introduced her to the secret addresses of the best weavers.
