A new era for Moroccan cinema

Cinerji makes its grand entrance into the national film network as a new, fully Moroccan chain of cinema complexes, founded by Hakim Chagraoui. Its goal is to revitalize the cinema network in Morocco and make it accessible to all through the latest technologies.

An exceptional cinematic experience for all, Hakim

Chagraoui presents the concept of Cinerji during a press conference in Casablanca. The objective is to democratize cinema by providing exceptional sound and visual quality to the audience, while also experimenting with a new way of experiencing cinema in Morocco.

An urgent need to revitalize the film industry

Over the years, the number of cinema halls in Morocco has significantly decreased, from nearly 80 theaters in the 1980s to only 27 theaters today. Despite the arrival of new operators and an increase in attendance, the market potential remains high.

Encouraging growth

According to data from the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), cinema attendance in Morocco increased by 8.2% in 2019, with nearly 1.9 million admissions. In 2021, cinemas recorded 663,604 admissions, generating 33.5 million dirhams in box office revenue, compared to 24 million dirhams in 2020.

The ambitious expansion of Cinerji

Cinerji plans to develop a network of 25 complexes in key medium-sized cities across Morocco over the next three years. This network will comprise 150 theaters with a total of 30,000 seats. A total investment of 400 million dirhams is planned to materialize this project.

Promising initial steps

The first step of this project will be the acquisition of the Imax complex at Morocco Mall in Casablanca. Following that, Cinerji complexes will be developed in several other cities, including Bouskoura, Dar Bouazza, Tétouan, Assilah, Kénitra, Salé, Settat, Béni-Mellal, Taroudant, Guelmim, Laâyoune, Dakhla, Essaouira, Nador, Ifrane, and El-Jadida.

Accessibility for all. Cinerji is committed to making cinema more affordable

The ticket prices will be more affordable, with an average of 30 dirhams. Special discounts will be offered to youth and seniors, and subscription cards will be available. Agreements with schools will also enable young students to attend cinema screenings for only 10 dirhams.

With the arrival of Cinerji, Moroccan cinema enters an exciting new era

Development and decentralization.

With modern complexes, a high-quality cinematic experience, affordable prices, and increased accessibility, the Moroccan audience will be able to enjoy a diverse range of films. Cinerji will contribute to revitalizing the country's film industry and encouraging creativity and artistic expression.read more.
