Chami: "A 15th edition that breaks all records."

The 15th edition of the International Agriculture Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM) was a resounding success. The Commissioner of the Exhibition, Jaouad Chami, stated that the objective was widely exceeded in terms of attendance and exhibitors. More than 923,000 visitors were recorded for this edition, a number that reflects the general interest of Moroccans in this exhibition. The 15th SIAM covered an area of 18 hectares, including 11 hectares of covered space, representing a 2% increase compared to 2019.

The participation of 70 countries was recorded for this edition, compared to 60 countries in 2019. Exhibitors occupied a pavilion spanning over 16,000 square meters, which reflects the quality of the stands and the caliber of foreign delegations visiting the exhibition. Nearly 500 cooperatives were also present in the "local products" section, including women's and rural cooperatives, which stood out for the quality of their production, packaging, and communication methods. Nearly 2,000 breeders also showcased the finest breeds and species of the Kingdom in the livestock section.

Significant conferences and contracts signed.

The new "Village Start-ups" section was also a resounding success. Start-ups demonstrated that technology must evolve alongside agricultural techniques, a reality confirmed during the 41 conferences held at the exhibition. Important topics such as food sovereignty were addressed. Nearly 800 experts gathered to exchange ideas on this theme and many others. The event also witnessed the signing of 19 program contracts between the government and agricultural industry professionals, aimed at supporting the "Generation Green" strategy, marking a significant turning point for national agriculture.

Adaptation to new production methods and principles.

Mr. Chami emphasized the need for professionals and producers to adapt to new methods and principles of production. The SIAM has now become "one of the world's largest platforms for exchanging agricultural issues." This event is a testament to the dynamism and vitality of the Moroccan agricultural sector.
